    Description

    Registered Nurse

    This position is based in Johannesburg South.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or Equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
    2. Maturity and possession of a matric qualification are necessary.
    3. Relevant experience in Medical Units is expected.
    4. A valid BLS certificate is compulsory.
    5. Advanced computer literacy is required.
    6. Flexibility in working hours/shifts is essential.
    7. The ability to implement and maintain standards of health practice, as mandated by accredited bodies and relevant health legislation, is critical.
    8. The Registered Nurse will provide cost-effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies.
    9. Direct and/or indirect nursing care of patients involves assessing, planning, executing, and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.
    10. Patient care must be practiced according to the Scope of Practice, and total responsibility for these activities is assumed.
    11. Contributions to holistic patient care are anticipated.
    12. Effective communication regarding patient care with patients is necessary.
    13. Promoting patient health and wellbeing is essential.
    14. A detailed handover to the ward's sister at shift commencement is mandatory.
    15. Recognition of life-threatening situations is crucial.
    16. Audit health records regularly to ensure compliance.
    17. Control and management of stock are necessary to ensure accuracy in charging and crediting.
    18. Promoting and maintaining good public relations with patients, relatives, and visitors is vital.
