Job Purpose
- Responsibility for the implementation and execution of special projects across the Treasury environment
Responsibilities:
- Explore new funding and hedging products, and funding strategies to optimise and align with both internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Interface with local and international financial and investment markets
- Assist with the transformation to a Next Generation Treasury in terms of automation, digitisation and data analytics
- Focus the above to attract new clients and improve retention by enhancing the client experience
- Replicate the local Treasury environment into the Nedbank Africa Regions
- Create an environment to value ideas and develop a pipeline of breakthrough innovation opportunities
- Prioritise and rationalise Nedbank and Markets initiatives and projects for optimum impact and return
- Focus fully and consistently on meeting all Markets targets and budgets
- Achieve business plan strategy for achieving shortterm results to ensure longterm growth
- Make decisions in the best interest of Bank and not just the function.
- Ensure the Treasury environment is governance and regulatory compliant improvement to policy, processes and practices implemented to reduced risk and uncertainty of potential global and domestic threats
- Ensure that the funding and asset portfolios meet the operational and bank specific requirements as determined by Group ALCO guidelines and requirements
- Ensure alignment and achievement of strategy and create a competitive advantage by translating the CIB and Markets strategy
- Personal relationships with employees at all levels across Bank, CIB, Markets
- Senior external stakeholder relationships leveraged for Group's benefit in a leadership role across CIB and rest of Bank
- Overall functional strategy and plan aligned to business strategy; understood and accepted both inside and outside the function focused on competitiveness.
Essential Qualification - NQF level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Post graduate qualification.
Preferred Qualification - Honours degree in Finance/Economics and Executive Development qualification/programme.
Minimum Experience Level - 12 years minimum relevant Treasury, funding and interest rate risk experience.
