Our client is seeking
an Enrolled Registered Nurse to be based in the southern suburbs of Cape Town for an old age home - frail care

  • Capable of making decisions timeously and taking responsibility for the consequences
  • Capacity to plan, organise and control own work environment by setting appropriate priorities and achieving set objectives within a given time frame
  • The capacity to identify and respond to the needs of the patient
  • The capacity to improve systems and processes to facilitate continuous improvement
  • Capacity to instil an ethic of quality and consistency in self
  • Capacity to establish constructive and effective relationships
  • Capacity to clearly present information, either written or verbal
  • Capacity to perform a technical function to required standards

Duties include the following, but not limited to

  • Orientation of new residents, health assessments on admission and monthly
  • Formulation of nursing care plan for each resident for approval by Professional Nurse
  • Daily involvement with all aspects of nursing care
  • Evaluation of resident's response to nursing care plan
  • Recording of observations, treatment, care given and resident's response
  • Receipt and implementation of doctor's orders
  • Ensure that basic needs and activities of daily living are met
  • Report any change in health status to Professional Nurse and/or doctor
  • Check all equipment regularly
  • Any other duties allocated by the Manager/Professional Nurse

Requirements:


  • A relevant nursing qualification

Registration with SANC:


  • Minimum of 23 years' experience with the elderly
  • Excellent English and
    Afrikaans communication skills
  • Committed to clinical excellence
  • Able and willing to learn new procedures and technique
  • Effective patient care
  • Must be prepared to work shifts

Salary:
R16 000**, pension, medical aid


Salary:
R16,000.00 per month


License/Certification:

  • Nursing Council registration (required)
