Why the job exists and the major expected end results

As the Specialist:

Risk and Quality Assurance for DGH, you:

  • Are expected to provide support to the business on the performance of Doves Group Holdings.
  • Are required to ensure that internal business unit deadlines are met.
  • Are required to ensure that operations have the Enterprise Risk Management and Quality Assurance information it needs to drive success of the business.
  • Are required to contribute to the operational risk management process of Doves Group Holdings.

Responsibilities:


A.
Quality Assurance

  • Implement the quality assurance framework
  • Conduct quality assurance audits on DGH branches
  • Execute quality improvement testing and activities
  • Assist in developing quality assurance standards
  • Adhere to industry quality and safety standards
  • Develop reports documenting errors and issues for fixing

A.
Enterprise Risk Management

  • Assist in developing, implementing and reviewing the enterprise risk management framework including risk management policies
  • Assist Developing, reviewing and implementation of the risk management strategy and risk management plan
  • Implement and review of risk management processes and procedures
  • Assist in developing and implementing risk appetite and risk tolerance framework
  • Assist in conducting strategic and operational risk assessments
  • Assist in developing and implementing Incident management and Risk Control Aelf-Assessments (RCSA)
  • Aggregate, monitor and advise management on managing and otherwise addressing identified risks effectively
  • Assist in developing and implementing combined assurance matrix and implementation and review of the combined assurance framework
  • Prepare risk reports for submission and presentation to the MANCOs, Group Exco and Risk Committee
  • Maintaining and update the strategic risk registers, operational risk registers and emerging risk register of the Group on the Risk Software
  • Perform research and identification of emerging risks and maintenance of the emerging risk register
  • Provide risk management trainings and assist in creating a culture of risk awareness
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Business Continuity Management (BCP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Crisis Management of the Group
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Health and Safety Program.
  • Creating the culture of risk awareness
  • Assist in project risk management
  • Work within the parameters of legislative requirements such as Insurance Act, Long-Term Insurance Act, Governance of Insurance Standards (GOI), Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI), Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

Requirements for the Job:

1) Risk Management degree/diploma or equivalent.

2) Post Graduate qualification in Risk management advantageous

3) Minimum of 2-4 years risk management experience within the financial services sector (insurance sector advantageous)

4) Knowledge and understanding of Risk Management Standards (COSO and ISO 31000)

5) knowledge and understanding of financial services processes and systems

6) Knowledge and understanding of operational risk regulatory requirements
