  • Our client within the Mechanical Engineering industry is seeking a Recieving Clerk to join their team in Germiston

Responsibilities:


  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of mechanical components, materials, and equipment.
  • Check shipping documents, purchase orders, and packing slips for accuracy and completeness.
  • Unload delivery trucks and transport items to designated storage areas using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
  • Perform visual and physical inspections of received items to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate with suppliers or vendors to resolve issues related to shipments or deliveries.
  • Label, tag, and organize received materials for inventory purposes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in receiving areas and storage facilities.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks including cycle counts, stock replenishment, and order picking.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a receiving clerk or similar role, preferably in the mechanical engineering industry.
  • Familiarity with mechanical components, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (valid forklift certification preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed
