Tsebo Facilities Solution is looking for Civil Technician to provide Technical support with regard to reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance on buildings and structures within the service level requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:


Generic Objectives

  • Undertake inspections on buildings and building constructions.
  • Undertake Reactive Maintenance Tasks and Repairs wrt civil infrastructure.
  • Ensure that best Operating Practice is applied when undertaking Maintenance Tasks / Repairs.
  • Manage Maintenance Material
  • Evaluate Check Sheets on a weekly basis.
  • Supervision of Work Teams and Sub Contractors
  • Perform Risk Assessments
  • Setup of civil checklists and building repair procedures

Site Specific Objectives

  • Conduct weekly maintenance planning sessions
  • Setup of Civil infrastructure checklists and procedures.
  • Do Investigations into Building availability.
  • Manage day to day work activities and planning
  • Liase with subcontractors
  • Inspect work of subcontractors and sign off.
  • Mentoring of direct reports.
  • Ensure that ISO systems are implemented and adhered to
  • Ensure that Health & Safety standards are incorporated into work activities
  • Compile training needs analysis and schedule training courses for personnel.
  • Perform inspections and compile reports on building envelope and roofing conditions.
  • Design and install a PPM system for civil, and structural maintenance of all buildings and structures within the SU portfolio

ISO 9001; 14001 & Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Standards

  • Adhere to the TFS's Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System's Policies & Procedures of as applicable to this position.

Ad Hoc

  • Any reasonable action requested by management.

Skills and Competencies:


  • Good knowledge of buildings and building infrastructure
  • Good knowledge of planned maintenance on building and civil infrastructure.

Qualifications:


  • N 6 / National Diploma Civil Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • 5 years min experience post trade test with management experience
