MTN is looking for a bright mind that will be responsible for in depth analysis of credit risk data across the entire credit lifecycle of the post-paid customer base, including consumers as well as businesses.

Analyses done within this team support fact-based decisioning within the credit vetting process, billing, debt collection as well as other credit risk management activities.

Furthermore, the role will entail predictive modelling to enable proactive credit portfolio management.

The key performance areas include:
Credit Portfolio Analytics

  • Monitoring and analysis of the performance of the credit portfolio in terms of ageing of debt, bad debt writeoffs and their related vintages, along with root cause analysis to support book management.
  • Analysis of the success of collections efforts, either performed internally or by external debt collectors.
  • Collaboration with other functions such as Customer Value Management to ensure that Credit risk plays its part in a positive customer experience whilst managing the postpaid book effectively, e.g. modelling and analysis to support customer campaigns.
Predictive Modelling

  • Conduct analysis and predictive modelling to predict customer payment behaviour, involuntary customer churn and bad debt writeoffs and optimization of collection efforts.

Cross-workstream collaboration:

  • Provide analytical support across the Credit Risk Analytics team as required.
Required Skills & Capabilities

  • Knowledge and demonstrated skill on credit modelling techniques.
  • Adaptability to various platforms and programming languages.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Understanding in using analytical concepts and statistical techniques on data integrity: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analysing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

Education:


  • 3year Degree in Advanced Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics/Risk Management, Honours preferable
  • Programming course and qualifications/certifications will be advantageous.

Experience:


  • Graduate to 3 years' relevant credit risk experience
  • Software: Oracle SQL, SAS, Power Bi, R, Python,
