  • BIM & Digital Design Technology, in Johannesburg.

Responsibilities:


  • This position is primarily responsible for performing BIM modeling and drafting tasks using Revit and AutoCAD software for the preparation of construction drawings for new construction and building renovation projects, BIM models, and detailing of technical information for vertical building projects across all markets.
  • This position is responsible for guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership of the BIM & Digital Design Technology team to achieve discipline, team, and individual team member goals.
  • This position is key in establishing and improving BIM and digital technologies within the Buildings Sector, including BIM/Revit standards, processes, and modeling methodology.
  • This position is also responsible for developing strategy for leveraging design technologies for project support, client engagement, and new market opportunities.
  • The position works within the team, as a member, carrying out the same roles but with the additional 'leader' responsibilities.
  • The position manages daytoday workload distributions, monitors the quantitative and qualitative achievements of the team, and reports results to the Discipline Leader.

Technical Leadership:


  • Perform technical work and QA/QC in addition to managing the work of others.
  • Create and oversee the quality of deliverables and content prepared by team members.
  • Train, coach, and mentor staff. Resolve issues impacting technical project objectives.
  • Lead or support team in technical scope and budget/pricing development for proposals and dynamic project planning.
  • Support client relationships and business development in support of strategic business plan.
  • Act as key point of internal contact for technical needs. Identify plan vs. actual performance variances.
  • Provide monthly reporting of resource planning, percent completes, budget dollar variance and market communication.

People Management:


  • Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members daily to function in a goaloriented manner.
  • Through supportive leadership, create an inspiring and trusting team environment promoting the growth of team members with an open communication culture.
  • Utilize their expertise, their peers, influence, and/or creativeness to formulate smooth team operations and effective collaboration.
  • Responsible for effective planning and scheduling of workload and performance of team members.
  • Interview and hire team members.
  • Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts, escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide ongoing Project Fundamentals training and coaching to team members.
  • Has full people managerial responsibilities (goal setting, training plans, performance development reviews, pay decisions, termination, discipline, staffing, etc.) and partners with Human Resources for strategic people management duties.
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.

Qualifications:


Qualifications:


  • Must have experience in development of BIM/Revit and design technology programs that support building design and construction in architecture, interiors, civil, structural, and MEP engineering.
  • Must have experience in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM technology, and modeling techniques.
  • Must have experience in developing, maintaining, and distributing best practices for BIM and digital technology content, libraries, and shared parameters.
  • Experience managing software development or experience in delivering technology programs/products preferred.
  • Experience with digital asset management, rendering, and video production preferred.
  • Must have a BA/BS degree in related field.
  • Active Professional Registration in digital technologies, architecture, engineering, or related field, highly preferable.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of technical related work experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressive leadership experience required.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and technical writing ability.
  • Must possess MS Office suite skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.

Travel:


  • Must be willing to travel to project sites, offices, client locations, and conferences as needed based on responsibilities or as required for team collaboration.

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate and manipulate
