Job Description:


  • The purpose is to support the overarching expert and owner for Reliability.

Your duties will include:


  • Support the Principal Reliability with reliability improvement programs aimed at improving the capability of reliability engineers on site
  • Support the Principal Reliability with the monitoring of efficacy of our reliability engineering site performance
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring of reliability site engineers
  • Develop reliability block models for each asset (fleet, equipment, plant, etc.)
  • Drive an agenda of improving the reliability of an organisation's asset portfolio
  • Refine engineering knowledge and specialist techniques to prevent or to reduce the likelihood or frequency of failures
  • Identify and correct the causes of failures that do occur, despite the efforts to prevent them in close collaboration with fleet/plant owners
  • Advise on ways of coping with failures that do occur if their causes have not been corrected
  • Define and establish a DE Management system, including triggers for DE projects, criteria to prioritise DE projects, templates for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and business cases, and mechanisms to report on progress
  • Establish a reliability management system in accordance with the AAOM and ASR BP Defect Elimination Principles
  • Facilitate the FMEA process by identifying functional failures and defining failure modes, probabilities and consequences

Qualifications:


  • An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Registered Engineer

Experience

  • Understanding of the full mining/ resource extraction value chain and its key drivers from the ore body through the extraction, processing, infrastructure and mining
  • Expertise in the analysis and interpretation of reliability data in order to conduct root cause analysis and make improvement recommendations
  • Experience operating as an internal coach / advisor to site reliability engineers, building site capability in reliability
  • Experience developing reliability block models
  • Defect Elimination technical capability with experience running defect elimination projects / programmes
