SOCIO-ENTERPRISE AND SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

JOHANNESBURG

Department - SOCIO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ASSET MANAGEMENT


Reports to - SED & ASSET MANAGEMENT MANAGER


Key Responsibilities Includes:


Enterprise Development (ED)

  • Support and administer the ESD Fund Management initiative.
  • Prepare internal performance reports for third party funds to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the fund managers to collate progression information and updates on 3rd party funds
  • Prepare internal submissions & presentations for EXCO to ensure that the offering remains relevant in the market.
  • Provide support to market the ED offering of the company and maintain existing ED Partnerships & hold regular monthly meetings: o Identify potential ESD clients and establish contacts
- o Prepare presentations for prospective clients
- o Prepare Agenda, terms of reference (TOR's), arrange regular meetings with recommendations on proposals for funding for existing funds.

  • Record keeping, reporting and liaising with the funds
- o Update to date ED funds and utilisation information
- o Facilitate and hold regular steering committee meetings with all ESD partners
- o Provide quarterly updates on partners contribution portfolio performance
- o Provide all relevant committees update and progress reports


Supplier Development (SD)

  • Implement new Supplier Development (SD) offering and secure SD Funding contributions by Measured Entities o Identify new SD partners
- o Secure commitment into the SD Fund and/or secure supplier contracts with measured entities for investments

  • Develop and finalise the SD diagnostic tool for SD partners
- o Create a diagnostic tool with Pre investment and the funds for each contributing partner
- o Monitor and evaluate the performance of each service provider to ensure impact of their implementation


Social Facilitation

  • Create awareness and train Trustees on corporate governance on the company invested portfolios/projects
- o Visit invested portfolios/ projects and ensure that accompanying reports are completed highlighting the challenges that these entities are facing and recommend possible solutions to Manager
- o Identify critical areas of intervention and come up with practical intervention solutions within stipulated time frames
- o Continuous visits to transactions to ensure progress and attend to challenges if any

  • Complete reports on transactions requiring committee's intervention to PMC o Completed report/s should highlight the challenges that these entities are facing and recommend solutions
  • Draft social plans for the financial year o Completed social plans should be implemented during the same financial year
  • Registration of Legal Entities o Assist the Legal Department with the registration process of legal entities for targeted groups

Strategic initiatives include:


  • Social Facilitation of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reforms Deals
- o Attend pre-due diligence meetings and make meaningful inputs
- o Attend Due Diligence with the Funds, provide meaningful inputs and when necessary give clarity to both the Investment associates and beneficiaries processes and do social facilitations as well as household profiling
- o Presentation / submissions to committees for final approval
- o Facilitate the registrations of Legal Entities
- o Provide Monthly/Quarterly reports to internal and external committees

  • Assist in the facilitation of forward and backward linkages for beneficiaries
- o Link disbursed transactions with one another for optimum empowerment of beneficiaries
- o Raise funds with any other stakeholder for infrastructure developments on these transactions

  • Support Social facilitators and monitor their work done:
  • Ensure action plans and reports submitted are timeously processed and that support social facilitators effectively engage with targeted beneficiaries.
  • Market Linkages
- o Identify potential market opportunities for clients and link them accordingly

  • Mobilise grant funding and secure markets for some of the investees:
  • Assist social facilitators in grant mobilisation and market linkage as part of developing their Social Development Plans

Experience/Skills Required:


  • 2 5 years clear understanding of the social facilitation processes and dynamics in South Africa.
  • 3 years in Socio Economic Development is a requisite.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act of 2005, Code of Good Practice and other related government policies, an added advantage

Qualifications Required:
