    What will make you successful in this role?

Job Purpose

  • As a Senior Financial Analyst, your primary role will require you to ensure that consistent financial management practices are applied to business case development, facilitate the business case development process leading up to investment decisions, as well as be responsible for strategic benefit realization reporting (including KPI tracking). The role will also require Monthly Expense management and forecasting on all projects as well as a Multiyear view of the BAU impact of projects once they golive as well as Management of the Future Fit Fund for projects which quality for capitalisation.
    Output/Core Tasks
  • Facilitate the business case development process with key stakeholders
  • Formal financial reviews of business cases
  • Custodian of Business Case financial templates
  • Responsible for KPI driven benefit realization reporting for strategic projects
  • Provide financial support to Project Managers, Business Consultants & Business Owners with regards to detail financial analysis & costing for projects, as well as building benefit realization models
  • Custodian of the current & longterm project expense view (Both CAPEX, Onceoff Costs as well as ongoing Business as Usual expenses)
  • Expense management and forecasting
  • Drive the 510 year views of the projects BAU benefits and ongoing costs
  • Management of the Future Fit Fund for projects which quality for capitalisation
  • Regular financial reporting on Projects
  • Collaboration and alignment with Financial Heads to ensure that budgets and project expenses are closely monitored and adjusted where necessary
  • Assist with Secretariat duties (documenting decisions and actions) at various Executive level Investment Governance Forums

Role Requirements

Qualifications

  • B.Com Finance Degree / Financial Management Qualification
  • CA (SA) would be advantageous

Knowledge and Experience

  • Understanding of financial management principles & concepts
  • Sound Financial Services Industry and preferably Insurance Industry knowledge
  • Experience in Project Finance
  • Experience in IT Finance
  • Exposure to business case processes, strategic KPI modelling & project financial reporting will be an advantage
  • 35 years in a similar role
