3Sixty Life is looking to appoint a Head of Finance Manager
The full finance team reports to the Head of Finance.

The Head of Finance is to work closely with the Curator, and is responsible for overseeing finance record-keeping, reporting on the performance and financial position for 3Sixty Life, and ensuring financial reporting deadlines (internal and external) are met.


The Finance Manager will have the following responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Management of the full finance team within the business, including recruitment, performance management, the establishment of KPI's, and the development of the team.
  • Establishing the accounting function within the business.
  • Enabling the migration of accounting data from the outsourced service provider to the company-owned licence.
  • Oversight of the integration of the administration system with the accounting software.
  • Delivery of the monthly financial reporting, including the updating of liabilities and provisions from signed-off actuarial reports.
  • Ensuring all month-end reconciliations are performed including (but not limited) to premiums, claims, banks, and investment reconciliations.
  • On an annual basis, prepare annual financial statements for the business on the IFRS basis. The Head of Finance will also be required to give input to the SAM returns.
  • Responsible for overseeing the management of the audit from the side of the business and liaising with the auditors, for both the AFS and the QRT. The role is responsible for the audit plan and management thereof for the internal and external audits, as well as regular reporting on the progress of the audits to the Curator.
  • Support to all assurance providers required in the business, including Internal Audit.
  • Fulfilment of any additional and ad-hoc requests from the regulator.
  • Analysis and management of profitability drivers.
  • Ensuring a green control environment and ensuring 100% data integrity.
  • Balance sheet management (Asset - liability matching).
  • Developing, updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures for all financial activities, to ensure adequate internal and financial controls, to minimise the risk of fraud and other unauthorised transactions.
  • Assisting governance structures to develop the appropriate internal audit plans, and scope of work for these audits.
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance.
  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Serving as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Development and implementation of budgets, consistent with Risk budgeting and supporting the business planning and strategy.
  • Ensuring that all financial information is captured accurately and completely in the financial records of the company.
  • Reviewing and/or approving payment batches.
  • Managing monthly working capital and cash flow requirements.
  • Management and safeguarding of the assets of the business.
  • Act as the Prescribed Officer for the business.
  • Ensure that the business is tax-compliant.
  • Support the operations in the development and implementation of new business.
  • Ensure premium suspense accounts are managed appropriately and premium collections reporting processes and controls are in line with regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED:


  • Chartered Accountant (CA) (SA) Qualifications compulsory.
  • 4 to 6 years' experience in a financial services environment, with at least three years in management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices and principles (IFRS17 & IFRS9 knowledge essential)
  • Meet Fit & Proper Requirements as per the financial services requirements.
  • Be successfully approved by the Prudential Authority for appointment in the role.
  • Exhibit honesty and integrity.
