Description

Responsibilities:


  • Dimensional and visual inspection of all incoming raw materials, as laid down in the specific work instructions.
  • Conduct Firstoff inspections, inprocess inspections and final inspections of the products.
  • Completion of all necessary documentation such as inspection check sheets/reports
  • The carrying out of all daily inspections of components as they are manufactured, as laid down in the specific work instructions.
  • The QC Inspector shall be responsible for maintaining all the quality records or control charts required
  • If a process is producing products which are suspected or known to be outside of the product drawing specifications, then the QC Inspector shall insist that the process is discontinued pending corrective action.
  • The QC Inspector shall ensure that following corrective action, components are to specification.
  • It shall be the QC Inspector's responsibility to ensure that all gauges and measuring instruments used by him/her are in good condition and within their calibration period.
  • The QC Inspector will liaise with the SHEQ Controller, as well as the Production Manager, at all times regarding the quality of the components and documentation.
  • The QC Inspector shall also be responsible for the administration of the quarantine areas and ensure that all procedures are adhered to.
  • The QC Inspector shall also be responsible for conducting internal process audit.
  • Assist with shop floor quality training.
  • Ensure that all components received and manufactured adhere to dimensional and other quality requirements reflected by drawings and specifications
  • Analysis and reporting of nonconformance.
  • Conduct process capability studies on tools and machines where and when required.
  • Read and manage technical drawings
- documentation, reporting non-conformance to the SHEQ Controller and Production Manager.

  • Enforce quality checks on operators and assemblers
  • Stop the production process when quality requirements are not met, using the correct LINE STOP documentation.
  • Ensure that measuring equipment on the production floor are calibrated and auditable records kept.
  • Communicate nonconformance with supplier as well as production units when failure to adhere to quality requirement are discovered.
  • Offer guidance on the introduction and use of Poke Yoke Gauging.
  • Assist the SHEQ Controller with the inhouse audits (with assistance of Roodepoort audit teams) of Process and System as detailed in the MSM. Also, to accompany AUDITORS during the audits.
  • Assist with QA function during New Product Development meetings on site.
  • Represent QA in departmental during Quality Review meetings.
  • To be actively involved in daily analysis of scrap at the Analysis Tables and to ensure that scrap is removed daily.
  • Assist in maintenance of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 management system. Procedures, policy, company Context, and SOP's.
  • Participation on the VAVE process.

Professional Qualifications:


  • Gr 1
  • Must have knowledge of ISO 9001 and 1400
  • Must have training on Quality Inspection

Professional Experience:


  • No less than 3 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Using measuring equipment such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Shadowgraph and 3D measuring machine.
  • Read drawings and specifications related to the product.
  • Basic computer literacy.
