Description

Responsibilities:


  • Receive and review tender documentation from clients or relevant platforms.
  • Analyze and evaluate tender requirements to ensure compliance with company standards and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to clarify tender details and obtain necessary information.
  • Cost Analysis and Negotiation:
  • Prepare accurate costtocompany estimates for each item in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Source and obtain quotes from new suppliers and existing contacts to negotiate competitive prices.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, conduct cost comparisons, and recommend the best procurement options.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Review the BOQ and negotiate better prices for each item, considering cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Prepare purchase orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Obtain PO approvals from the Managing Director or Company Owner.
  • Forward approved POs to the respective suppliers and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
  • Site Material request must be action in a specific time frame.

Supplier Relationship Management:


  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, quality standards, and delivery performance.
  • Continuously monitor supplier performance and address any issues or nonconformities promptly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve disputes, negotiate contracts, and establish longterm partnerships.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the petrochemical or mining industry, with knowledge of civil, mechanical, and structural works.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, practices, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management standards is desirable.

Salary:
From R70.00 per hour
