    Our client is looking for a National Business Development Manager. This role will expose you to a diverse working environment with endless opportunities to grow as an individual and to work for an organization that promotes equality. This is a permanent role.

    This position will be based at the companies head office, in Bryanston, Johannesburg with an expectation to travel nationally as and when required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Own vehicle is essential as travel is vital in this position.
    • Matric (Essential).
    • A relevant tertiary postgraduate business qualification (Highly Advantageous.
    • The incumbent should have at least 10 years working experience, of which 5 years should have been at a senior management level.
    • Business development and sales experience.
    • Experience in the recycling industry (highly advantageous but no a pre-requisite) and proven track record of managing and growing a profitable intermediary portfolio (Advantageous).

    Responsibilities:

    • Management of two regional heads of business development.
    • Relationship management – develop and manage strong relationships with all
    • Stakeholders, including internal staff.
    • New business acquisition.
    • Grow and retain existing business based on agreed targets.
    • Portfolio management – prepare and disseminate monthly portfolio reports, e.g. monthly
    • Variance reports, data on local trends of recoveries, and monitoring performance of glass banks.
    • Prepare and present presentations to demonstrate TGRC's value proposition to all stakeholders.
    • Provide insight to other functional areas within the business.
    • Demonstrate a broad, informed view which considers the interests of the organisation.
    • Work collegially and constructively as a member of the leadership team.
    • Understand and manage the business development environment (internal and external)
    • Coordinate the strategic and business planning processes in consultation with the CEO.
    • Achieve the company's strategic objectives based on the EPR targets.
    • Provide the required leadership for business development.
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive post-consumer glass recoveries, ensure good corporate governance.
    • Good asset (e.g. skip bins and glass banks) control and management.
    • Achieve national budgeted glass recoveries as per EPR regulations.
    • Optimise, implement and successfully manage the cullet recovery strategy, asset management and control, ROI on assets and re-allocation of poor performing assets.
    • Assessment and development of relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Interact, lobby and further develop relationships with all 3 tiers of government (for clarification national such as the DFFE, Provincial and Local)
    • Representing the company at stakeholder meetings where required.
    • Manage day-to-day activities of business development to ensure best practices are adopted.
    • Compiled information on national and local trends in terms of cullet recoveries, using the complied information to develop strategies whereby regions with potential volumes can be targeted.
    • Identify international best practice in terms of increasing glass recoveries.
    • Maintain centralised record systems for all applications received for glass banks and from entrepreneurs.
    • Maintain register of all consumables (e.g. bags, wheelie bins, scales, PPE and the like) and assets.
    • Ensure all business is conducted in accordance with the Companies and Competitions Acts and all other relevant regulations.
    • In the capacity as a leader and hiring manager, as and when necessary, ensure compliance with applicable laws including, but not limited to equal employment opportunities and human resource obligations.
