    Permanent position available in Bellville, Bloemfontein or Pretoria.

    Requirements:

    • Related degree (LLB, Bachelors in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Management or related fields).
    • Registration as a Phase 1 Compliance Officer with the FSCA is required.
    • A Certificate in Compliance Management is advantageous.

    The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a compliance function within the financial services industry, with a working knowledge of non-life insurance and bilingualism in English and Afrikaans. Key responsibilities include:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Training and Education:
      • Developing and delivering training programs on compliance-related topics.
    • Communication:
      • Providing guidance to employees and financial advisors on compliance matters.
    • Fostering a Compliance Culture:
      • Promoting a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within Company.

    Additionally, the role involves:

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Regulatory Risk Management support:
      • Developing and implementing a compliance coverage plan based on the approved regulatory framework;
      • Implementing all necessary actions to achieve compliance plan objectives;
      • Maintaining compliance policies, procedures and documentation.
    • Licensing and profile changes:
      • Ensuring timely submission of license profile changes to the Regulator.
    • Monitoring:
      • Conducting monitoring as per the agreed compliance coverage plan;
      • Compiling a monthly file monitoring schedule and reporting findings;
      • Escalating high-risk findings to the Compliance Manager.
    • Ad hoc support for Compliance projects:
      • Assisting the Compliance Manager with any compliance project.
    • Reporting:
      • Compiling internal compliance reports on all compliance activities and risks.
    • Recordkeeping:
      • Storing compliance records securely on SharePoint.
    • General:
      • Staying abreast of regulatory matters through webinars and newsletters;
      • Attending regular compliance meetings.
