Job Summary


Provide complex advice and support in the positioning of strategic change operating models and frameworks in a broadly defined business functional strategy; enabling operating model, strategy and value chain formulation and alignment.


Job Description:


Strategic expertise and support:
Provide expertise, support and guidance on complex and key strategic change matters, ensuring alignment with business strategy

Change frameworks and standards:
Ensure the design, implementation and maintenance of strategic change frameworks and standards against global best practice standards

Change programmes:
Oversee strategic change and efficiency programmes as senior specialist and provide guidance and advice where required

Compliance and Risk Management:
Fulfil all activities in adherence to relevant control and compliance requirements

Stakeholder Management:
Actively promote and manage the collaborative engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, service providers, business partners and other Absa entities

Governance:
Oversee the fulfilment of all required governance activities, including change tracking and reporting.

End to end management of change portfolio including:

Strategy, OKR & Investment Alignment - ensures the entire change portfolio is aligned to strategy, new demand is checked against defined principles, and resourced & funded to create and maintain the solutions needed to meet business targets.


  • Demand Management
  • Embed and chair the Consumer Product strategic demand process to ensure all initiatives aligned to the strategy with detailed OKRs. This happens prior to approval to add to Book of Work at the change forum. Help shape the Book of Work by bringing insights around similar projects, nonvalue add projects, strategic thinking & stakeholder alignment.


  • Portfolio Financial Management

  • Embed good tracking and forecasting to ensure unused funding can be moved quickly to other projects
Lean Governance - the oversight and decision-making of spending, audit and compliance, forecasting expenses, and measurements.

  • Portfolio Reporting
  • Data driven insights to help prevent risks and issues or conduct corrective action to bring back to plan. Have valueadding Key Performance Indicators


  • Portfolio Governance

  • Ensure all programs meet governance requirements by helping Project Managers and admins with checklists and cheat sheets. Use audit findings to improve processes and checklists.


  • Risk and Compliance

  • Represent Consumer Product for all change risk control requirements i.e. ERCs. Be deliberate in planning and executing on actions to close risk items
Agile Portfolio Operations - coordinates and supports program execution / agile release train management and fosters operational excellence across all product value streams

  • Portfolio Sync
  • Continuously streamline process and meetings to improve decision making process (must be data driven), improve funds approval process (finance and tech to be brought in early).
  • Overall DDD Change Progress
  • Consolidate and track digital, design and data work across entire business unit (not just Consumer Product) to ensure visibility, reduce duplication and align efforts.
Innovation and Continued Success - manage the innovation strategy, pipeline of ideas and metrics on innovation

  • Embed a Community of Practice for change resources
  • Building the Consumer Product change brand on Workplace
  • Provide thought leadership on innovation strategy work

Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years relevant experience supported by a proven track record of delivering significantly complex projects & programmes in a comparably diverse organisation (in terms of complexity, scale and budget).
  • 5+ years' experience direct responsibility for managing large specialist teams
  • 3 years+ Exco level and/or senior management exposure (stakeholder management)
  • Appropriate Tertiary degree or equivalent qualification
Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas:
Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
