    Description

    **Job Title:** Surgical Team Member

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a high level of professional conduct and integrity.
    • Ensure a calm and comfortable environment for the surgical team to work effectively.
    • Apply the principles of sterilization, disinfection, and aseptic and sterile technique to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Enhance knowledge of normal anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology to provide effective patient care.
    • Identify and prepare each patient individually for the intended surgical procedure.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of the surgical procedure by anticipating the needs of OR team members.
    • Understand the actions, uses, and patient responses to anaesthetic agents, fluids, and electrolytes.
    • Comprehend the principles of wound management, healing, and prevention of inadvertent trauma during surgical intervention.
    • Recognize potential environmental dangers to patients through understanding surgical instrument functions, supplies, and equipment maintenance.
