- Salary R R per annumA well known international automotive manufacturer in Tshwane, Gauteng is looking for a Technical Training Technician (Electrical) to join their team who will educate individuals to understand technology and automation to achieve a particular technological field or trade.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Plan, develop, coordinate, institute, monitor, validate and report on manufacturing skills training and LPWR launch program training
- Develop technical training programs and facilitates training. Develop skills that will enhance new APPRENTICES & TRADE learners to qualify as Electrical Artisans. Technical trainers are extremely knowledgeable in their field of expertise and possess solid technical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training needs analysis for each manufacturing plant skill stream including new launch programs. Involve all stakeholder affected by the program. Develop outcomesbased training courses and programmes
- Develop training material (training plans, trainer guides, learner guides, assessment documents)
- Conduct practical and theoretical training for manufacturing (Assembly Operators, Repairman, Learnership, Skills Programmes)
- Assess employees for competence (RPL, preemployment and on skills competency by per stream)
- Evaluate training impact on the business
- Develop a training plan & schedules of Production Learners (for Learnership programs) to support manufacturing with skilled assembly learners.
- Determine new facility and equipment that is installed as the result of the plant changes and develop schedules to train in the operations of the equipment.
- Develop LPWR training schedule for the new model launch
- Develop training templates for tracking launch related training
- Track, compile, monitor and report on all LPWR training interventions to all stakeholders e.g. (Launch engineers, PSG's, Technical training & Launch Office)
- Plan and prepare for both static & dynamic training and facilitate delivery of training for new model launch
- Develop training programmes that address lack of skill of production team members
- Initiate process improvement and implement the innovative improvements
- Adhere to SAFETY and ISO 9000 quality requirements
- Maintenance and record keeping of tools, machinery and training venues
- Ensure availability of training materials at all times
- Complete any reasonable tasks inline with technical training centre as instructed by training associate
MINIMUM EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED
- National diploma in Electrical Engineering S4 or S5 or Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering with 3 year automotive manufacturing process experience
- Must have experience in training Electrical Artisans & Apprentices
- Assessor qualification
- Facilitation (TraintheTrainer)
- Coaching
- Mentoring
- Understanding of SAQA, NQF, Merseta and learnerships
- Programme development in terms of outcomes/competence
- ODETDP knowledge would be an advantage
