An established plastics manufacturer based in the Cape Town Northern suburbs is seeking Maintenance technicians with strong electrical and mechanical backgrounds which are required to inspect, service and repair machinery and equipment and services in the plastics extrusion industry


Requirements:

• Relevant qualification. Relevant trade test will be advantageous
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good electrical and mechanical fault finding skills
• Sober lifestyle
• Willing to work irregular hours and shifts (including weekends and public holidays), should it be required
• Proficiency in English: Read, write and understand clearly
• Reliable transport
• Selfmotivated, energetic and able to motivate others
• Ability to work independently as well with others
• Ability to liaise with operators and staff
• Ability to work under pressure

• Variable speed drives installation and fault find
• PLC and relay logic circuits (programming not essential)
• Counters and proximity sensors
• Star delta starters
• Fabrication and welding
• AC induction motors
• Pumps
• V belt pulleys
• Sprockets and chains
• Gearboxes
• Pneumatics
• Hydraulics
• Temperature control and heating
• Attending to breakdowns
• Fault identification and fixing of route cause
• Able to read electrical wiring diagrams, design and wire electrical circuits.
