Description

Our client offers Shipchandling services in Cape Town and is looking to appoint an experience Shipchandling Buyer to efficiently manage and process all Shipchandling enquiries from sourcing through to delivery and invoicing and follow up on all potential Shipchandling activities in the area to grow the company's interest.

Primary Functions:

Receive and analyse enquiries received from clients/ships (specification matching, etc.)
Strategic sourcing of suppliers & products (locally and internationally) via our database, market research, Internet, etc.
Get all the necessary information to be able to quote the client utilising margin calculations and foreign exchange conversion
Follow up on quotations done to secure orders, manage all queries and negotiate with clients
Place and administer orders
Coordination with team to ensure customer delivery satisfaction cost efficiently
Liaison with suppliers to ensure smooth delivery process
Inspections and packing of products (compliance, quality, packaging, etc,.)
Establish delivery notes, invoices, etc
Be present at loading of goods and delivery to shipss
Customer management & growth through regular marketing to retain existing relationships and establish new relationships within the industry (i.e. ship captains, etc.)
Proposals of processes to streamline the Tristan Shipc Chandling Division to be as efficient and customer friendly as possible
Any other duty that is reasonable and relevant to this position
