SANCCOB, a leading marine conservation non-profit organisation, seeks to employ a
Receptionist at
SANCCOB Cape Town, situated in Table View, Cape Town.
Responsibilities
- Manage the switchboard and reception area so that it is welcoming, neat, and professional at all times.
- Secretarial duties including the welcoming of guests, preparing for meetings, and taking minutes of meetings, if required.
- Maintain and replenish office stock such as stationery, bathroom, and general supplies.
- Assist with staff signing internal policy documents when required.
- Assist with shop sales if required.
- Assist with administration, filing, fundraising and adhoc duties.
Supporting the Procurement and Inventory officer as directed by the Accountant
- Receiving of deliveries, stock takes, inventory variance reports.
- Placing of orders, price checks, obtaining discounts and quotes
- Receiving invoices and supporting documents
- Ensure that all volunteers and interns meet SANCCOB's driving requirements.
- Assist with basic bookkeeping duties including but not limited to receiving supplier statements and petty cash admin/control.
Assisting with management of the vehicle fleet and usage
- Managing the vehicle usage according to a predetermined budget.
- Coordinate volunteer drivers for collections.
- Conduct weekly vehicle inspections and ensure that all company vehicles are well maintained.
- Ensure that SANCCOB Gqeberha personnel and colony personnel submit vehicle checks.
Requirements:
- Matric qualification: a tertiary qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in reception or similar position.
- Valid Code 8 Drivers license
- South African citizen or valid work permit/residency
- Clear credit and criminal record (nonnegotiable)
- Passion for seabirds and/or marine conservation, with a missiondriven work ethic and a positive attitude
- Ability to manage the front desk, receiving visitors onsite and telephonic enquiries in a professional and pleasant manner, and represent the organisation with high standard.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team but also to execute work independently and take the initiative when required.
- Emotional intelligence, including strong interpersonal skills and selfawareness.
- Deadline driven.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A strong command of English as a working language is essential.
