- To provide strategic, technical and people leadership to the Operations team on the trade life cycle i.e. confirmations, settlements and reconciliations across the commodity related products. Key functions of this role are to provide high quality control and enablement to both internal and external stakeholders whilst minimizing operational risk and fostering teamwork.
experience and qualifications:
- Relevant financial postgraduate degree
- 7+ years' experience in a Global markets environment
- Commodities experience highly beneficial Competencies:

- Initiate dialogue to build professional working relationships with all stakeholders, displaying excellent abilities to listen, advise, influence, negotiate and present at all levels
- Lead and facilitate difficult conflict situations into consensual agreements
- Integrate opinions and information provided by various sources to make strategic decisions
- Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences
- Continually scan the industry to identify opportunities to create strategic partnerships with key individuals and bodies
- Find opportunities to leverage relationships and promote knowledge sharing, ideas and insights
- Lead and facilitate suitable solutions with stakeholders across jurisdictions. Transaction management
- Operations
- Facilitate successful trade life cycle (confirmation, settlement and reconciliation)
- Monitor to ensure transactions are implemented to coincide with DCF's, mandates, legal agreements and other business requirements
- Ensure transactions are implemented and managed in line with industry and internal business requirements
- Ensure operations specialist understand the nature of the specific business and the factors involved in a specific transaction, e.g. price volatility, risks associated with products, legal and compliance risk, settlement, operational and credit risk
- Resolve escalated issues as required Continual process improvements
- Create and document process flows for new transactions
- Identify, implement and monitor process efficiencies
- Oversee the automation of management of deals on models & systems Participation in relevant forums and committees
- Participate in the Market steering committee for any project implementations
- Participate in operations management meetings to give input on structured products and advice on issues that arise within various operational areas
- Analyze existing processes and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement to provide exceptional client service and mitigate operational risks appropriately (this includes ensuring appropriate controls are in place for manual processes)
- Stay abreast of regulatory and industry changes and their impact on the business and ensure these are embedded in daily processes
- Ensure all processes are documented and updated regularly
- Ensure procedure manuals are in place and kept up to date
- Ensure daily operational processes and procedures work correctly with continued improvement of processes and procedures
- Automate manual processes and put systems in place for more efficiencies.
