    Beach Manager Job Opportunity

    The Village of Kenilworth is seeking a motivated and organized individual to oversee daily beach operations as the Beach Manager. This seasonal position will report directly to the Village Manager's office.

    The Beach Manager will supervise a staff of 12-15 lifeguards and admission clerks, who operate in shifts of 3 guards at a time. The goal is to ensure a safe swimming and recreational environment for all residents and non-residents with a season pass.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage during staffed beach hours.
    • Enforce all beach rules and procedures, prioritizing safety for patrons and staff.
    • Respond to emergencies, perform first aid when necessary, and follow up on incident reports.
    • Maintain Village-owned equipment and monitor cleanliness of grounds and facilities, reporting maintenance issues promptly.
    • Provide excellent customer service to beach patrons, setting an example for staff by being responsive and friendly.
    • Offer feedback on new amenities, suggesting improvements where necessary.

    The Beach Manager must be available to work a combination of weekdays and weekends for 30 +/- hours a week. Staffed beach hours are from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. from Saturday, May 24th through Monday, September 1st.

    Requirements:

    • American Red Cross Certification in lifeguarding/first aid/AED/CPR by May 19th, 2025.
    • Valid driver's license required.
    • Must pass a background check conducted by Illinois State Police.
    • Proficient swimmers able to run long distances and assist in lifting a person.
    • High energy level, excellent customer service skills, and effective communication essential.
    • Availability for training in early May and work through Monday, September 1st, with opportunities for additional shifts in September (weather depending).
