    Job Description:

    Our client, based in the Pietermaritzburg area, seeks a seasoned Technical Sales Representative. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional communication skills and sales and marketing related qualifications at NQF Level 5 or higher.

    Requirements:

    • Sales & Marketing related qualification at NQF Level 5 or higher
    • Technical Engineering-; Trade qualification or equivalent
    • 3 - 5 years of previous product management or application engineering experience, preferably in the Transmission and Distribution Energy market or 10 years' experience in a similar position in lieu of education
    • Experience with Microsoft software
    • Working knowledge of Syspro is an advantage
    • Self-starter who can function effectively in a business environment
    • Project Management skills are advantageous
    • A valid driver's license with no endorsements is required
    • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written situations involving customers, internal personnel, and field sales service representatives
    • Strong planning and organisational skills along with technical knowledge of electrical distribution equipment

    Responsibilities:

    • Support and develop marketing and product plans
    • Support new product launch process; includes developing collateral materials, coordinating field trials, facilitating customer standardisation, coordinating sales training
    • Develop key customer relationships
    • Service requirements of the customer base assigned to the representative, including preparation of offers, quotations, tenders, and support interface with the factory
    • Analyse competitive products
    • Initiate Engineering Change Requests
    • Identify cost reductions/profit improvement opportunities
    • Stay abreast of latest product technologies and innovations
    • Support and resolve customer complaints
    • Initiate modifications to existing products to meet changing requirements
    • Participate in and coordinate field activities (inspections, product installations, customer training etc.)
    • Work closely with the international Transmission Team
