    Description

    Senior Financial Accountant

    A senior financial accountant is sought by a well-established and expanding company in the Sandton area.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Full accounting function, encompassing data input to management reporting.
    2. Data analysis for informed decision-making.
    3. Support to the Financial Manager on various tasks.
    4. Providing analytical reports to the Sales & Marketing Director.
    5. Daily sub-ledger balancing for accurate financial records.
    6. Processing and reviewing daily purchase order conversions.
    7. Review of all journal entries for compliance and accuracy.
    8. Creditors reconciliations, payment packs, and ageing review for timely action.
    9. Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of queries.
    10. Manual journals preparation for seamless transactions.
    11. BEE reporting for regulatory compliance.
    12. Management reporting pack preparation for key stakeholders.
    13. Foreign payments monitoring for forex requirements and usage.
    14. Review and sign-off cashbooks for accurate record-keeping.
    15. Backup and recovery of cashbook and shipment costing functions.
    16. Full fixed assets management for optimal asset utilization.
    17. Ad-hoc assistance to the Financial Manager and CA as required.

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    • BComm degree or similar academic qualification.
    • 5-8 years of full accounting experience in a multinational or listed company.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS standards.
    • Advanced Excel skills for efficient data analysis.
    • SAGE X3 software proficiency advantageous.
    • Report writing skills advantageous for effective communication.
