Introduction

We are looking to recruit a permanent WMS Implementation Technical Specialist to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Roodepoort, Lea Glen branch and will report to the Application Portfolio Manager (WMS).
Job description

Overall objective

The WMS Implementation Technical Specialist is responsible for the successful implementation and configuration of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of WMS, supply chain processes, and the ability to translate business requirements into system functionality.

Key Performance Areas:

Implementation and Configuration: Implement and configure WMS solutions based on business requirements. This includes system setup, testing, and golive support.
Technical Support: Provide technical support for WMS including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Training: Train endusers on the use of the WMS, ensuring they understand system functionality and capabilities.
Documentation: Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference and training purposes.
Project Management: For WMS change requests, manage timelines, resources, and risks to ensure successful WMS changes and implemented successfully and on time.

Skills:

Functional configuration proficiency in implementing WMS systems.
Writing Functional Specifications for business review & signoff
Writing Technical Specifications for Developers to follow.
Writing Test Specifications and executing testing against them.

Minimum requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. (strongly advisable)
Certificate or Diploma from a WMS system provider or implementation partner showing training or competence with installing WMS solutions.

Experience:

Essential:

Proven experience in WMS implementation and support.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
7 years work experience in logistics.

Desirable:

End user support experience.
KNAPP Kisoft Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) operational or implementation experience.
Experience in Pharma, Logistics, or Wholesale & Distribution Industries
Familiarity with SAP ERP
