    Maintenance Manager

    We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the mechanical and electrical maintenance of our facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work is performed to the required quality standards, adhering to OEM requirements and relevant ISO standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
    • Responsible person in terms of occupational health and safety regulations regarding the maintenance and repairs operation.
    • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance work, including completion of maintenance records and reporting on maintenance activities.
    • Ensure that all work procured adheres to procurement policy and procedures.
    • Implement and manage a documented and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
    • Develop and maintain best practices for maintenance work, including adherence to OEM requirements and relevant ISO standards.
    • Responsible for security on site and the management of the security company.
    • Involved in the investigation process should an incident occur.
    • Responsible for the workshop on site, including maintenance and upkeep of equipment and tools.
    • Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of bins and other facilities.
    • Responsible for the service and upkeep of the wash bay on site.
    • Responsible for all maintenance on site, inclusive of buildings, roads, ablution facilities, and equipment.
    • Responsible for compliance documents associated with bylaws, provincial, and national laws pertaining to maintenance of equipment and tanks on site.
    • Perform preventative and planned maintenance tasks, as well as emergency maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks.
    • Conduct replacement installation tasks, refurbishment tasks, and repairs as required.
    • Ensure the correct usage of all electrical equipment/assets in the workshop and maintenance environments.
    • Direct routine and special maintenance interventions on all plant, machinery, and ancillary equipment at the treatment plants.

    Requirements:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Computer literate, with proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, Google Docs/Word.
    • Strong mechanical experience, including knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation.
    • 3-5 years relevant experience in maintenance, preferably in a landfill or similar environment.
    • Availability for 24-hour stand-by duties.
    • Knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming and maintenance.
    • Strong knowledge of software programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12.
    • Millwright qualification, electrical engineer, or mechanical engineer.

    Estimated Salary: R800,000 - R1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
