The barista is responsible for ensuring that the café and coffee station operates efficiently, and is well maintained.

Part of the role is ensuring that Workshop17 clients feel the warm and welcoming energy, and a sense of belonging from the moment they enter the location/café.

And a great coffee is a great way to start the day.

They can communicate clearly with customers and the location team, and they are reliable. Our café serves a member community, where the members' preferences should be known. What better way than to understand their preferred drink and how they want it to be served?

General scope of work_

  • Barista Tasks_
  • Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks that meet quality standards.
  • Properly handle and maintain all equipment.
  • Respond to orders, concerns and complaints politely and efficiently.
  • Serve customers quickly and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings (including food offerings).
  • Observe relevant health and safety standards.
  • Observe café trends and explore weekly specials.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the café and coffee station.
  • Daily cashup and management of the POS.
  • Stock control_
  • Maintenance of crockery & cutlery: eg teaspoons, plates, saucers etc.
  • Capturing and ordering stock weekly.
  • Supervision of stock area and equipment.
  • Client interaction_
  • Polite, helpful and friendly.
  • Always be available for the client.
  • Communication throughout the day with the client for any changes.
  • Team player/support_
General support to the location team and assisting all departments when necessary.

Ideal Qualifications/Experience_

  • NQF
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a barista.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • A great team player.
  • Well presented and passionate.
  • Dedicated, reliable and servicedriven.
  • Ability to engage with customers and build relationships.
  • Handson and always willing to assist.
  • Enthusiastic about serving others and networking.

Pay:
R8 000,00 - R8 500,00 per month
