Role Overview:


The Building Supervisor, reporting directly to the Senior Facilities Manager, will be instrumental in ensuring the effective operation of our Johannesburg Service Delivery Centre.

This role involves collaborating with the Senior Facilities Manager to oversee energy management, facility maintenance, health and safety compliance, vendor management, space planning, budget management, sustainability initiatives, and emergency preparedness.


Key Responsibilities:

Support Energy Management Initiatives: Aid in the design and implementation of energy management practices with a focus on sustainability and cost efficiency.

Facility Maintenance and Repairs: Help execute a preventive maintenance program and coordinate necessary repairs and renovations to minimize operational downtime.

Health and Safety Compliance: Contribute to ensuring the facility's compliance with health and safety regulations, exceeding standards where possible. Participate in safety trainings and the implementation of safety protocols.

Vendor Management: Assist in the selection and management of service providers, securing quality services at the best value.

Space Planning: Facilitate efficient space allocation and manage office moves with mínimal impact on operations.

Budget Management: Support the management of the facilities budget, looking for opportunities to reduce costs without compromising on quality or safety.

Sustainability Initiatives: Engage in sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of operations.

Emergency Preparedness: Help develop and maintain emergency plans and conduct training to ensure preparedness.

Leadership: Lead and support a team of facilities staff, promoting a positive and efficient work environment.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience in Facilities Management, ideally within a BPO or corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with facility management principles, including maintenance, safety, and security practices.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing facilities for a large number of employees (1000FTE 3000FTE is advantageous).
  • Knowledgeable in energy management and committed to environmental sustainability.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and project management abilities.
  • Budget and financial management skills.
  • Preferably holds a degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
