    Role Overview

    The Retirement Fund Administrator plays a critical role in updating and reconciling funds on a monthly basis. They also provide support to the Team Manager as needed.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Key Performance Objectives:

    1. Calculate and process claims i.e. withdrawals, retirements, and deaths.
    2. Compile administration reports for clients.
    3. Make monthly or ad-hoc investments or disinvestments in line with Trustees' mandates.
    4. Process monthly payments of fees, risk benefits, etc.
    5. Update accounting transactions on a monthly basis.
    6. Ensure asset liability matching.
    7. Monitor risk benefit providers in terms of underwriting requirements.
    8. Prepare for year-end audits.
    9. Issue member benefit statements.
    10. Comply with fund rules and legislative requirements.
    11. Prepare data for actuarial valuations and bonus declarations.
    12. Prepare data for monthly unit price calculations.
    13. Support consulting for risk re-broking exercises.
    14. Calculate and pay consulting fees annually.
    15. Install new funds.
    16. Calculate and prepare Section 14's – drafting data.
    17. Handle fund amalgamations and terminations.
    18. Assist the Team manager, when required, to check claims, calculations, reports, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Matric/Grade 12 certificate.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the pension's administration environment.
    • Sound experience in Pension Fund accounting.
    • Proven ability to apply returns and balance shares of fund.
    • Co-ordination skills.
    • Interpersonal skills.
    • Time management skills.
