About the Role
We develop the legal profession's most innovative products for data analysis, visualization, and research. We use AI, machine learning, and data visualization techniques to uncover insights about judges' rulings, build forecasts of likely outcomes, and reveal critical connections in massive datasets spanning the law, news, and finance.
This position performs moderate research, design, and data engineering assignments within a specific functional area or product line.
Responsibilities

• We own specific sets or groups of data transfers in various capacities including collection setup, data transfer setup, contributor/customer setup, etc.
• We interface with other technical personnel or team members to document, interpret, and finalize requirements.
• We produce efficient, repeatable code without defects and adhere to best practices such as naming conventions and encapsulation.
• We write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of data components.
• We complete data engineering bug fixes and issues, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate.
• We identify opportunities to apply automation or other tools to improve effectiveness or efficiency.
• We work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into data engineering and/or data management designs.
• We innovate process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance and participate in the development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.

Requirements

• We require 3+ years' experience in data management areas with demonstrated technical competencies.
• A Bachelor's Degree (Engineering/Computer Science preferred but not required); or equivalent experience is required.
• Ability to work with data models and strong knowledge of data manipulation languages.
• Proficiency in development languages including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, Unix, .Net., HPCC.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, graph databases like Neptune or neo4j.
• Experience with technologies that power analytics such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes or other distributed computing systems.
• Knowledge of API development and machine learning deployment.
