    Professional Engineer/Technologist - Roads & Highways

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide innovative solutions and develop an understanding of outcomes.
    • Take ownership and responsibility for work, completing it on time and prioritizing effective resource allocation.
    • Delegate tasks to team members and monitor their work, ensuring accountability and high-quality deliverables.
    • Serve as a supervisor for a small team of junior technical staff, promoting efficient team utilization.
    • Evaluate resource needs and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
    • Maintain quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Oversee all project sections, fostering collaboration and effective management.
    • Possess proficiency in software tools while working independently to produce high-quality deliverables.
    • Understand the principles of the design process and how design is translated into deliverables using software tools.
    • Present technical work, represent services to clients, and engage in conferences to showcase expertise.
    • Identify key project issues and understand their influence on work activities.
    • Contribute to Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Quotation (RFQ), tender, and proposal submissions for the function, as well as providing input for large infrastructure projects as required.
    • Verify constructed works for compliance with design and specifications.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, building business relationships essential for project success.

    Recommended Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

    • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree from an accredited university or institution.
    • Professional registration with the Engineers Council of South Africa (ECSA).
    • At least 10 years of postgraduate experience in designing and implementing transportation and/or municipal services infrastructure, bulk water, and sewerage infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Microstation is essential.
    • Knowledge of Infraworks, Storm & Sewer Analyses, iDAS, Water Design Software, or Open Roads is advantageous.
    • Interest or experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems is a significant advantage.
    • Ability to create technical reports.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
    • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
    • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
    • Experience in administering GCC 2015 projects.
    • Proficient in maintaining a professional image to ensure Surbana Jurong's reputation is upheld.
    • Courteous and business-oriented demeanor when interacting with stakeholders to foster positive working relationships.
    • Collaborative and flexible work style, enabling effective teamwork.
    • Project financial knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing.
