    Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

    Cape Town, Product Development.

    Job Summary

    We seek a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of our product ranges from first principles. This role involves detailing designs for existing products and developing new ones, with a focus on innovation and problem-solving.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design 3D CAD models and present them to clients.
    • Prepare manufacturing and supplier part drawings.
    • Conduct concept and design reviews.
    • Manage and support day-to-day design activities.
    • Develop cost-saving, service-improvement, and product-enhancement solutions.
    • Collaborate with materials and purchasing teams on new part design and sourcing.
    • Work with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to optimize material use and manufacturing processes.
    • Interface with Product Regulation and Compliance staff to ensure regulatory compliance.

    Requirements:

    • B Eng. / BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Minimum 7 years of design experience.
    • Project planning and execution skills.
    • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
    • Innovative and self-driven approach to problem-solving.
    • Hands-on ability to adjust to changing priorities.
    • Objective-oriented, goal-setting, and deadline-meeting skills.

    Estimated Salary:

    **R750,000 - R1,200,000 per annum**, depending on experience.
