    Description

    Cost & Budget Accountant responsible for group cost management and budget controls. Collaborate with other stakeholders, establish goals and budget for the company. The respective candidate should be highly organised, administrative, professional, and attention to detail orientated.

    Summary purpose/expectations:

    The purpose of this role is to assess the different costs and budgets of a business and how they impact operations, costs, efficiency, and profits in the mining industry. Individually assessing a company's cost structure allows management to improve the way it runs its business and therefore improve the cost effective and efficient innovations. Analysing and managing the costs associated with within the Group via to track, record, analyse, and report on all expenses incurred by the Group in its day-to-day operations. This information is crucial for management decision-making, budgeting, and overall financial planning.

    Key deliverables:

    • Cost Analysis: Examine the various costs involved in producing goods or delivering services. This includes direct and indirect costs.
    • Cost Allocation: Allocate costs to products, projects, or departments.
    • Budget Control: Creating and monitoring budgets by comparing actual expenses to budgeted amounts.
    • Cost Control: Work with all departments to implement cost-saving measures to support improvements, waste, or negotiate with suppliers to lower costs.
    • Pricing Analysis: Analyses prices for products or services comparing production costs and market conditions. Analyse profitability impact.
    • Financials: Compile cost reports that provide insights into the company''''''''s cost structure.
    • Inventory Management: Evaluate inventory, including determining the method ensuring effective and efficient cost limitations.
    • Analysing Support: Provide data and analysis to support strategic decisions.
    • Compliance: Ensure cost accounting standards and budget regulations related to cost accounting.
    • Continuous Improvement: Structure continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiencies.
    • Cost & Budget Accounting Policies and Procedures:
    • Develop, document, and maintain cost accounting policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls.
    • Reports: Establish cost and budget data reports. Analysing feasibility and efficiency expense costs versus budgets.

    Teamwork and Self- Management:

    Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained.

    Demonstrate consistent application of group and company cost procedures and policies.

    Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands.

    Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change.

    Cross-Team collaboration.

    Demonstrable ability to work in fast-paced environment.

    Requirements:

    Minimum Academic & Experience required for this position:

    • BCom Cost Accounting.
    • 5 Years experience in cost and budget accountancy.
    • Experience in analysing cost expensive and budget control. Proven experience as a Cost account role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations will be an advantage.
    • Advanced in MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel - advance, PowerPoint, Word).
    • Understanding and have knowledge of the respective financial policies, procedures, and processes.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
    • Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

    General:

    Applicant should be located in area surrounding Brits / SA Citizen Valid SA code 08 driver licence and own transport.
