    Operations Analyst Role

    The Operations Analyst is responsible for overseeing and optimizing operational planning processes, ensuring efficient resource allocation, scheduling, and decision-making to support the company's objectives.

    Main Responsibilities

    Planning and Scheduling:

    • Oversee and manage project planning and scheduling processes to ensure timely completion.
    • Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to meet project requirements.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather project requirements, assess resource availability, and create detailed project schedules.
    • Conduct weekly operational meetings to advise teams on adjusting schedules as needed, accommodating changes in priorities, resource constraints, or external factors.
    • Ensure schedule accuracy for new projects.
    • Analyze resource utilization data from job clocking systems to identify optimization opportunities and efficiency improvements.
    • Generate and analyze resource histograms to ensure resource availability for executing order books and future projects.
    • Assist operations in tracking and managing productivity, efficiency, and utilization.

    Performance Analysis and Reporting:

    • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data from various systems to evaluate performance against key focus areas (KFAs), such as productivity, efficiency, and utilization, attendance, and on-time delivery using business intelligence packages or SQL queries.
    • Present findings and recommendations to General Managers to support decision-making processes.
    • Oversee and manage weekly progress reports.
    • Manage job clocking systems and time clerks to ensure data accuracy.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and workflow enhancements within the planning function.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and make adjustments as necessary to drive continuous improvement.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

    • Act as a liaison between the planning department and other functional areas, such as production, engineering, and procurement.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations staff to ensure alignment of planning activities with project requirements and operational goals.
    • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on planning-related issues and help resolve conflicts or challenges as they arise.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Maturic Certificate
    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Operations Management.
    • At least 5 years' experience in operations planning, scheduling, or project management, preferably in heavy engineering or manufacturing environments.
    • Proficiency in planning and scheduling software tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects, and Excel.
    • Proficiency in SQL queries and relational databases.

    Key Skills and Attributes:

    • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
    • Familiarity with earth-moving equipment and pressure vessel manufacturing processes is desirable but not required.
