    Introduction

    SPAR North Rand is recruiting for a Development Manager at its Distribution Centre, located in Olifantsfontein. The position aims to manage and facilitate new and existing store development projects to successful launches, across all SPAR formats.

    1. Provide structural and aesthetic store development services to existing and new retailers within the borders of South Africa and neighboring countries.
    2. Develop and innovate strategic advancements in the field of store development.
    3. Develop new and implement existing store concepts.
    4. Manage the SPAR preferred supplier list.
    5. Control and manage store project budgets.
    6. Ensure the image of all SPAR stores meets Brand CI specifications.
    7. Negotiate with property developers and various stakeholders.
    8. Provide leadership and guidance to SPAR retailers.
    9. Ability to travel extensively, including cross-border trips into neighboring countries.

    Requirements

    1. Matric Certificate.
    2. Project Management Diploma.
    3. An architect or building engineering degree will be an advantage.
    4. MS Projects skills are required.
    5. Previous experience in construction management is advantageous.
    6. Familiarity with FMCG equipment and operational requirements.
    7. At least 3 years of retail experience.
    8. A minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
    9. Analytical skills and self-motivation are essential.
    10. Council and legal compliance knowledge.
    11. Understanding of store operations and profitability.
    12. High integrity and ability to work independently.
