USD 63,000 per annum neg + accommodation + transport.
Leading International HVAC company seeks a permanent HVAC Project Manager for their Papua New Guinea office. We are looking for a South African to move there permanently. Minimum 5 years experience in HVAC systems installation, design, and project estimating. Must have a Mechanical Engineering Degree


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years experience in HVAC systems installation, design, and project estimating.
  • Must have proven ability to manage people and clients and manage projects for a successful outcome and achieve project goals.
  • 2+ years of project management
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in all the responsibilities of a Commercial HVAC Project Manager
  • Experience working for a mechanical subcontractor required
  • Proficient with construction financial programs and software preferred
  • Demonstrates an understanding of accounting and financial management
  • Must have a Mechanical Engineering Degree

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage assigned projects to maintain profit margins and goals as established by management.
  • Maintain and strive to improve company image.
  • Maintain project budgets and maintain systems of checks and balances to manage a project to achieve success.
  • Train and organize project and project staff to meet goals.
  • Assist General Manager in negotiating project bids and estimating project costs.
  • Assist General Manager in negotiating materials and equipment purchases.
  • Maintain high quality of deliverables and client expectations.
  • Understand the company standards and maintain them.
  • Track project changes and report any required changes to monthly billings to General Manager.
  • Ensure the project is set up and that Foremen have what they need to provide a successful project.
  • Organize people and materials to meet project schedules. Inform the General Manager/ Operations Manager of any deviations from projections.
  • Periodically review projects for quality and client satisfaction. A review of the project in the field will be necessary.
  • Generate project punch lists and verify that they have been completed.
  • Submit change orders and RFI s to the General contractor and maintain records.
  • Project, project labour, and material needs and coordinate schedules with other staff.
  • Verify the accuracy of material needs and compliance with specifications.
  • Resolve design issues and questions by involving appropriate personnel. Push for resolutions to keep the project moving.
  • Review project contracts and ensure that liens and intents are in place.
  • Help with setting up projects and schedule of values to enable proper tracking of projects.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Attend weekly divisional meetings
  • Develops and initiates preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information for projects.
  • Do not divulge proprietary information to outside sources.
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and standards.

Physical Demand:

  • While performing the duties, this position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
