Objective of this Scope of WorkThe scope of work defines the roles and responsibilities of the required Information Governance Specialist.
Scope of Services Definition
- The Information Governance Specialist will work under the guidance of the Information Governance Manager in EIM in Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD).
- Information Classification support services.
- Providing support to business in defining of the Data Governance artefacts such as the business glossaries, data dictionaries, data catalogue and data lineage.
- Establish and define organisational Information Management principles, standards, processes, and methodologies and providing technical guidance on adoption of standards.
- Support and technical guidance for Information Governance activities on Tier 1&2 programmes.
- Providing technical guidance on Information Governance related activities such as defining business Data Management operating models.
- Supporting the development, review and updating of departmental data strategies.
- Supporting the development of relevant policies, standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- To conduct an assessment on data governance maturity levels within the busyness Group against best practices.
- To develop policies, standards, guidelines, processes, procedures for data governance within the business Group.
- To develop and promote data governance awareness across the organization to ensure appropriate usage of business information.
- To contribute towards the development of the business data strategy and monitor the data strategy progress.
- To define data governance measurement and metrics to support reliable decision making and appropriate data usage.
- To monitor, measure and report on the data stewardship levels to ensure the appropriate data usage.
- To enable the improvement of data governance capability by developing relevant stakeholders in all aspects of data governance.
- To play an oversight role in the remediation of data governance issues.
- To develop and manage stakeholder relations effectively to promote data governance awareness across the organization and support reliable decision making and appropriate data usage
Formal Qualifications/Education:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering OR equivalent.
- A relevant data governance certification (e.g., CDMP Associate) would be an added advantage.
Job related work experience:
- A minimum of 810 years' experience in the field of data governance job related knowledge and skill requirements:
- Define the organization's viewpoint and principles on information governance.
- Align information governance activities with relevant trends and leading practice.
- Develop the information governance strategy and goals in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Plan to meet the goals defined by the data strategy for information governance.
- Design and define organisation "good practices" using industry practices for information governance.
- Define the organisation's governance mechanisms for information governance, including its operating framework, policies, standards, procedures and responsibilities.
- Define the metrics for information governance.
- Design or select tools to support information governance in the organisation.
- Assess the impact of existing and new legislation and regulations on information governance, including compliance requirements.
- Identify the relevant stakeholders with whom to engage on information governance and build and maintain organisational touchpoints.
- Lead consultation and creation of awareness and buyin of information governance across the organisation.
- Conduct readiness assessments in the organisation.
- Conduct discovery of the information in the organisation Facilitate business alignment with information governance.
- Provide guidance on organisational compliance with the Enterprise Information Management policy.
- Provide guidance on information management projects.
- Validate controls to mitigate, and mechanisms for managing, information governance related risks and issues.
- Prepare strategic reporting on information governance for senior stakeholders.
- Have technical developer skills in inter alia Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft PowerApps,
- Microsoft SQL and advanced Excel skills to enable the maintenance of solutions
