    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing and Sales Manager to drive sales and marketing strategy for our strata control products in the mining sector across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.

    This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic leadership and direct customer management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of underground roof support systems, specifically cable anchors, and will be responsible for guiding and supporting the sales team while maintaining key client relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Sales and Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities for strata control products, expanding our customer base in the mining industry.
    • Customer Relationship Management: Directly manage a portfolio of key clients while mentoring and supporting the sales team in handling other accounts.
    • Marketing Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns to position our products effectively in the mining sector.
    • Technical Consultation: Provide technical advice and product demonstrations to clients, showcasing the benefits of our strata control solutions.
    • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, setting sales targets, tracking performance, and providing strategic guidance.
    • Industry Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including mining engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers.
    • Market Analysis and Strategy Development: Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.
    • Travel: Be prepared to travel extensively within South Africa and across sub-Saharan Africa to visit clients and support the sales team.

    Duties

    1. Propose marketing and sales strategies and once approved by Exco, implement as deliver results.
    2. Take ownership and maximise value delivered by the organisation's CRM;
    3. Market and sell strata control and drill products;
    4. Manage the Marketing & Sales budget and ensure that all monies spent is done so with best value in mind at all times;
    5. Lead and manage the performance of the marketing and sales team (Marketing Representatives and Technical Support Staff);
    6. Mentor and guide team members – to ensure that team members are positive, focused and well trained at all times;
    7. Identify new products & services, research the feasibility of thereof and support development and lead commercialization;
    8. Assist in the development of training material that facilitates the safe and efficient use of products and promotes the brand
    9. Manage the customer training at sites – on surface and underground.
    10. Ensure that all Marketing Team members are 100% knowledgeable of our product range, use thereof and are comfortable to conduct training. Maintaining and accurate training register and feedback reports;
    11. Adhering to the agreed visit schedule to ensure that all clients are receiving adequate face time and support from the organisation;
    12. Obtaining client detail information on all visits, to create, update and maintain a company contact database.
      The Marketing Manager must always conduct him/herself in a dignified manner; must always act with integrity and carry the best interests of the organisation foremost at all times.
