Job Purpose
To identify training and development needs and providing recommendations on programmes and activities. Guiding Managers and Supervisors in developing training skills. Delivering training programmes. Conduct Artisan training.
Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills
- Manage the Training Centre WS (Equipment, Consumables, Tools and Personnel).
- Ensure the Training Centre WS is setup for the Training and Assessment timeously.
- Arrange and Execute Training in the Training WS.
- Assess and supervise all assessments.
- Act as coach / mentor to artisans and trade personnel.
- Identify and assess training needs in consultation with line managers.
- Design and develop training modules and assessment guides.
- Coordinate training events and logistics together with the Training Coordinator.
- Manage the Facilitators and Assessors.
- Invigilate practical and allocated theoretical portion of training as and when required.
- Training Committee member.
- Record assessment results onto a data resources list.
- Perform the practical assessment and interviews of personnel for selection to project specific LDC contracts.
- Maintain integrity of all data through standard processes and collaborate with HR Coordinator, Operations and Production Manager on training matters.
- Provide a support service to the company's production /operations / fabrication demands at the workshops and site locations.
- Schedule training and assessment to utilize the training and assessment facility to its full.
Internal relationships
Interaction will be required with the Training Coordinator, Resource Coordinator, Project Managers, QC Manager, Welding Engineer, all Production and Workshop personnel.
External relationships
TVET Colleges, Training Providers
Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience
- Grade 1
- Relevant Artisan Trade (Boilermaker or Welder)
- Qualified Red Seal Artisan
Knowledge and experience of
- Learning and Development experience
- Workshop Experience
- Supervision experience
- Good technical and practical experience
- Supervised personnel in a Workshop environment
- 10 years relevant training experience
- Assessment of Trade and Apprentice personnel
- Assessor / Moderator accreditation advantageous
- Machine maintenance
- Competent in African languages advantageous
