Our client in the steel manufacturing industry based in Randburg is looking to hire a Production Planner.

The production planner will be responsible for moving the product through the processing cycle and getting approvals and necessary information about production between the various people that coordinate the manufacturing line.


  • The production planner must be an extremely well organised individual that has ability to troubleshoot problems as well as identify and correct any potential issues before they become a problem.
  • When there is a difficulty with the production or delivery, the production planner must work with the different parts of the manufacturing line to determine how to meet orders and clear up any backlogs or backorders.
  • This may involve contacting buyers or suppliers and negotiating alternate delivery dates or prioritising the various backorders to meet the requirements of the customer.
  • Should be able to work under pressure, make effective decisions, as well as coordinate and schedule a variety of production issues to keep the product flowing smoothly through the manufacturing plant.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills with all employees and should be able to work with all staff involved in the manufacturing, storage and delivery areas of the plant.

REQUIREMENTS

  • National Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 5 years experience
  • Computer literate
  • Report writing
  • Cost management
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Act
  • Quality Management

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
R35,000.00 per month


Experience:

Production Planning: 4 years (preferred)
