    Job Title: Benefit Management Clinical Analyst

     

    Our client is a specialized pharmaceutical benefits management organization, focusing on electronic claims processing and medicine benefit management.

     

    The role involves analyzing and reporting on client-specific data, consulting with clients on medicine expenditure, benefit design, and industry trends.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Reporting:
    • Collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data from various sources using advanced Excel and Business Intelligence (BI) models.
    • Develop reports and presentations for clients regarding their medicine utilization and expenditure based on Service Level Agreements (SLA) or other client-specific requirements.
    • Review and analyze reports created prior to distribution to clients.
    • Compile and communicate internal reports and analytics according to business decision requests/requirements.
    • Prepare ad hoc reports for clients based on client requests.

     

    • Analysis and Consultation:
    • Consult internally with relevant departments regarding best practices and recommendations to clients (documentation and data analysis) to provide quality solutions to client-specific needs.
    • Provide training on data analysis platforms (BI models) to internal and external clients.
    • Present findings and possible Benefit Design recommendations to clients, as and when required, which will address client marketing and financial positioning according to industry standards.
    • Assist colleagues in the clinical interpretation of reports and for presentation purposes.

     

    • Research and Development:
    • Contribute to the annual publication (Company's Medicine Review) to the industry, raising awareness of the Company brand.
    • Analyze data and support the Pharmaceutics and Therapeutics committee (PTC) to enable informed funding decisions.
    • Attend and participate in various industry forums to stay updated on clinical advancements and emerging trends, ensuring the implementation of best practices within the Company and providing relevant information during discussions.

     

    • General Administration:
    • Perform tasks according to operational and departmental needs.

     

    Requirements:

     

    • Grade 12 qualification.
    • B.Pharm degree (Master's degree advantageous).
    • Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.

     

    • Experience and Skills:
    • Proven working experience with data in various forms and on applicable platforms.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in the healthcare, medical aid industry, or research.
    • Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel skills.
    • Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
    • Knowledge and ability to work with BI models, e.g., Qlik Sense.
    • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and writing skills.
    • Ability to work with deadlines and manage client expectations.
    • Ability to deal with conflict and good time management.
    • Analytical and detail-oriented.
    • Apply clinical and healthcare industry knowledge to analyses.
    • Capable of using initiative within scope of responsibilities.
    • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and clients.
    • Adaptable and flexible.
    • Critical thinking.
