About the role

As a Territory Manager at Orica South Africa, you will play a pivotal role in driving our vision forward.

You will be at the forefront of our operations, spearheading business growth, building strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative solutions that propel our industry into the future.

The role will focus and ensure Contract Delivery; deliver Site Organic Growth; and manage Operations Execution. This role forms part of the Africa South which is a sub
- region in the vast and diverse EMEA region.
What you will be doing


This role is accountable for the safe and effective delivery of in-field operations; compliance; day to day contract execution and variation management; owns local and site customer interface and relationships and provides key demand & market feedback to the business.

Operations and People Management

Manage operational activities at Site/s in line with applicable SHES policies.

Demand fulfilment - store/site to blast hole.

Site DIFOT & Tonnes performance Reporting.

Conduct Site Operational Reviews.

Conduct daily customer demand planning

Actively manage assets through their life cycle, including sustenance capital spend and replacement planning.

Implement plans to ensure the maximum utilisation, availability and security of business assets on site/s.


Ensure that a motivated, skilled, competent and appropriately trained team is in place to deliver business needs now and into the future.

Coach, facilitate and develop the site team/s.


Ensure that succession and development plans are in place for key roles and personnel, and that performance management process are in being utilised for site/s.

Sales, Marketing and Commercial Management

Responsible for bid tender preparation & negotiation and contract finalisation for site.

Actively identify & conversion of Business Development opportunities for differentiation.

Ensure weekly regional customer demand forecasting is conducted.

Attend face to face customer meetings.

Ensure customer needs identification and execution of solution.

Responsible for contract management (invoicing & rise & fall implementation).

Ensure CFC / CAPEX controls are in place and expenditure is in line with budgets.

Working with the Credit and Collection team to ensure customers debtor compliance is aligned to contracted terms.

Tertiary qualification, Post graduate qualifications in Mining/chemical engineering

Frontline management/ Leadership development program (desirable)

5-10 years' experience in operations management within a mining, manufacturing/technical environment

5+ years Leading small to medium work groups
