    Job Description:

    The Draughtsman will be working closely with our in-house design team and will report to the Engineering Manager on new product development, design changes to existing products, processing production-ready drawing packs, reviewing and verifying component requirements and bills of materials.

    Duties of a Draughtsman:

    • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, Lantek, or Cypcut, and associated tools to create accurate designs.
    • Maintain a sense of urgency with a 'can-do' approach to meet deadlines and expectations.
    • Work simultaneously on multiple projects, prioritizing tasks effectively to manage time and resources.
    • Create and manage bill of materials (BOM) for product ranges and changes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Adhere to engineering principles and guidelines to ensure high-quality designs.
    • Report progress regularly to Management, providing updates on project status and any challenges encountered.
    • Develop creative solutions to overcome obstacles using required skills and expertise.
    • Leverage a detail-oriented mindset to maintain precision and accuracy in designs.
    • Apply knowledge of sheet metal and tubular steel information modeling to optimize design efficiency.
    • Accept feedback on final designs and utilize constructive criticism to improve future work.
    • Prioritize effective time management and communication skills to collaborate with the team.

    Requirements:

    • Certificates in CAD software and related tools.
    • Qualification in mechanical drafting or a related field.
    • Associate degree or higher in a relevant field.
    • Experience in sheet metal and appliance design.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks and 2D/3D computer designing.
    • Background in product design or a related field.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Technically-minded individual with fluency in English.

    Key Skills and Competencies:

    • Experience in designing and working with sheet metal in an engineering environment.
    • Proficiency in 2 & 3D computer designing.
    • Engineering design and drafting skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Strong planning and organizing abilities.
    • Detail-conscious with ability to consistently produce accurate factual and detailed information.
    • Team player with excellent collaboration skills.
    • Reliable transportation and cellular phone.
    • Sober habits and a clean criminal record, including police clearance once contracted.

    Remuneration:

    Market-related salary package, including provident fund and disability cover policies.
