Duties/Pligte

  • Management, coordination, and liaison of all work with internal and external stakeholders, FM, and clients.
  • Requesting of quotations and estimates, loading of purchase orders, processing invoices combine with good record keeping.
  • Experience in asset management and maintenance software systems (Planon and Oracle)
  • Compliance with all prescribed legislation, as well as policies and procedures of the University; measurement of service level agreements, internal audits of systems and management of service providers.
  • Project management, including inspections, recommendations and corrective actions, complete control over expenditure, including weekly updating of project / job request system, regular monitoring of progress measured against target dates, identification of risks and preventive / corrective actions.
  • Relationship management, including the promotion and maintenance of good working relationships and partnerships with internal clients and service providers, to promote the image of Facilities Management.
  • Ensure fire detection and evacuation systems, burglary alarms, BMS (Tridium) and other electronic systems comply with rules and regulations as stipulated and prescribed in SANS as well as compliance with standards prescribed in Master Planning and Design Criteria documentation.
  • Ensure compliance and safety of complete LV & MV electrical network
  • Ensure compliance and safety of complete mechanical system
  • Ensure compliance and safety of complete of all wet services systems
  • Update process documentation and procedures, work instructions and other tools to support execution of utilities management
  • To compile regular reports, recommendations, and remedial measures with respect to compliance, efficiency projects and utilities
  • To assist and advise contractors on site, on matters related to quality control and the compliance to specification of standards of contracts documents.
  • To prepare reports on progress, site activities and all other related issues.
  • Assist with development of operational and tactical plans mechanical, electrical, water and gas utility plans by studying operational plans; studying existing conditions; determining needs to accomplish operational plans; mapping solutions; updating and modifying requirements and solutions; preparing cost estimates and budgets.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • N3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering;
  • A successfully completed, recognised trade test (electrical/mechanical);
  • At least five years' relevant experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good leadership qualities;
  • An aboveaverage ability to promote and maintain good human relations with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders;
  • The ability to motivate colleagues, to offer advice, provide leadership and inspire them to provide better service delivery;
  • The ability to function within a team
  • A valid Code B driver's licence
