Caterer (Halaal) - Grade 09

Requirements:

Grade 12 plus approximately 4 years' relevant experience where such experience includes:

  • Previous experience preparing Halaal food within an Industrial Catering environment / Food Services; environment where food hygiene, industrial food preparation and presentation were key responsibilities;
  • 1 years' supervision experience OR be in possession of an RU Supervision Certificate;
  • Previous administrative experience within a computerized environment. For those who do not have basic computer skills an ability to demonstrate the aptitude to learn such skills is required this will be assessed as part of the Selection process;
  • The Halaal kitchen compliance regulations require that food preparation from the onset to the enduser is supervised by a practicing Muslim, consequently applicants need to be Muslim.

Rhodes University has a vaccination mandate as part of its Conditions of Service. The implementation of the vaccine mandate has been held in abeyance from 01 January 2023.

Should the COVID-19 situation change in a way that the number of cases of COVID-19 pose a threat to the University, the implementation of the Vaccine Mandate will be re-activated and all staff would be required to be fully vaccinated.
