Jackpersad & Partners are the largest independent Radiology Group in KZN providing advanced radiological imaging. We are looking for professional and competent Registered Nurse to join our practice at Midlands Medical Centre.

  • Valid SA ID document
  • National Diploma in Nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year Post Community Service training
  • Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • Ensure achievement of CPD
  • Clinical competent in all aspects of patientcare in radiology
  • Ability to work during weekends or at night
  • Ability to travel to cover shifts at other venues within KZN
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • The physical stamina necessary to stand for long periods of time and lift patients who need help moving

Technical Competencies required for this position:

  • Wilingness to assist with patient experience within the radiological environment including assisting patients with preparation, checking request forms, completion of pre-procedure forms, positioning of patients for MRI and CT and assisting with service recording
  • Administration of drugs and injections including for contrast examination
  • Managing sterile environment for special procedures
  • Managing radiographic stock and emergency trolleys
  • Assisting Radiologist and Radiographers with invasive procedures
  • Able to communicate effectively with all staff, patients and patient's families or other department's staff including referring Doctors
  • Observe and record signs, symptoms and behaviours, including the physiological condition of patients, present the assessment of changes, the proposed revision of interventions, and desired outcomes
  • Excellent time management skills and able to prioritise
  • Demostrate initiative
  • Flexible and adaptable, and willing to work within own skill levels to best meet the needs of the venue and company
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and accreditation principles, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Intravenous cannulation skills
  • Clinical assessment skills
  • Quality handover knowledge
  • Executes physician's orders for all assigned patients that are consistent with the stated appropriate nursing and medical staff to changed medical aid
  • Independently perform duties and assumes responsibility for care of assigns patient
  • Performs or assist radiographers and radiologist to perform aseptic techniques, isolation procedures and infection control measures
  • Maintains patients' privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times
  • Participates in the development of the specialist nursing service in Radiology
  • Participates in venue and company clinical audits
  • Monitor all risk management processes
  • Assist in ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken to comply with all relevant health and safety regulations including the ionising radiations regulations
  • Be able to use RIS and PACS to process patient information
  • Evidencebased nuclear medicine, diagnostic and ultrasound in radiology practice
