CIVIL ENGINEER / CIVIL TECHNOLOGIST

cortez-trading-pty-ltd is a multi-disciplinary company with expertise in engineering, project management, and environmental consulting. Our Civil Engineering Division requires a skilled Civil Engineer or Technologist to join our team based in Umhlanga, South Africa.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSc Civ Eng) or Bachelor of Engineering in Civils (B Eng (Civils)) degree; alternatively, registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech Eng)
ECSA Registration certificate or Engineer in Training certificate for the application

Ideal Candidate

Demonstrates leadership skills backed by technical expertise
Seeking a long-term career opportunity within cortez-trading-pty-ltd
Minimum 5 years of technical experience and 1-2 years of team leadership experience, primarily within a consulting engineering firm

Essential Skills

Roads, earthworks, storm water, and sewer design
Storm water management systems

Desirable Skills

Pump station design for both water supply and sewerage

Key Responsibilities

Technical expertise on civil engineering projects
Manage client and stakeholder relationships
Mentor junior engineers
Project specific controls

Additional Requirements

Proficiency in MS Office, Autocad Civil 3D, and IDAS
Familiarity with Hec-ras, GIS, PCSWMM, or similar software
Familiarity with Thekweni standards
