The Role

As a Police Officer Academy Graduate, you'll embark on a field training program with us, honing your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide community service, including responding to requests for police assistance.
• Offer public education and assistance.
• Detect and address community concerns and issues.
• Problem solve and mediate using de-escalation principles.
• Build progressive relationships based on respect and trust.
• Facilitate due process with professionalism, conducting interviews, investigations, and testifying in court.

Requirements:

• 40 semester or 60 quarter units from an accredited college (completed by time of application).
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.
• Vision and hearing capability consistent with POST.
• A minimum of 21 years of age.

In addition:

• Completion of a California Basic Police Academy with current certification obtained within the past three years.

You'll possess leadership qualities, effective communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to focus while working on multiple assignments. You'll understand the importance of acting confidently and compassionately.
